If I put a GS-T Muffler on my RS.....

Will it sound any diffrent? I am just going to get 2.25" mandrel bent piping ran from the cat back, with a high flow cat. How much of a sound diffrence will there be, if any? I want a SLIGHT (very subtle) change in sound, nothing that a $100-under muffler will give me (I don't want that 4" tip/sound on my car, and don't want to pay $600 for some Borla system...).

OR

Am I wrong thinking that a GST Muffler will give me the good air flow I need to go with my new 2.25" pipe?

So basically, will a GST muffler change sound at all, and will it give me MORE than enough air flow for my RS (I don't really have a high horsepower goal for my current n/t, I just want to put a little 'pep in its step' with around 190hp at the crank, or something like 160-175whp, until I can get a 2002 Trans Am WS6, with an STS remote mounted turbo ).

(Plus I would get a full exaust and cams and all that other bullshit.)

Well my friend has a '92 Accord, and he has an Apexi N1 style muffler on his...man its both loud and obnoxious. I've never heard of the revolution muffler...but most GReddy's are loud as hell. I was just hoping someone would answer my initial question...thanks for the input though.

Re: If I put a GS-T Muffler on my RS.....

I found some on ebay for NT eclipses and the description says that they come with removable silencers or some shit. That may help with all the noise. I think it was an N1. $135 on it.

the gst muffler should sound fine. 93laser you need to remeber that he has a NT which will sound loud and obnoxious just like a honda.

Re: If I put a GS-T Muffler on my RS.....

Benag, those sound silencers do work but rob you of horsepower. They are dumb IMO...paying for an aftermarket exhaust for more power, then adding silencers to kill that power just seems stupid to me.

Right, so the GST muffler will be good on airflow...what about sound? Any changes there? I'm on a really low budget, and cheap...so i'm pretty sure I won't be buying a(namebrand) aftermarket muffler...

Re: If I put a GS-T Muffler on my RS.....

I'm planning to get a new exhaust for my rs (--- ???) so if i wont to ride around town with my silencer at 1:00am so i dont get a ticket is stupid? No Get a silencer you you can. That is if your like me and dont want to blare around the neighborhood all the time. Also what is stupid to me is blaring around round town all day. There are times and places. where you wish you would have a silencer. Get the gst exhaust if you can. And if you get a after-market, in vest in a silencer. they ARE removable.

Re: If I put a GS-T Muffler on my RS.....

I had a Tenzo-R muffler on my old gs-t and it gave it a nice low/deep resonance...not to loud either

Yes but im PRETTY sure the 420a n/t and the 4g63t sound just a TAD bit diffrent...don't you? Like, if you pop a Apex'i N1 muffler on a 420a...its sounds ricey, but throw it on a 4g63t...and you've got the 'low growl' or whatever...

Thanks guys. I'll go for the GST muffler.

P.S. - If anyone knows if it will actually change the sound/tone of the exhaust, please tell. I'm really curious.

Re: If I put a GS-T Muffler on my RS.....

I have an N1 on my n/t, doesnt sound ricey at all. Its very low. That is why I went after it, I didn't want a bumble bee swarm following my car everywhere I went. Just letting you know, doesn't sound ricey at all.
