94 z28 white smoke

Sometimes I have white smoke coming out of the exhaust. I lasts for 2-3 min and then gone. also main oil seal is leaking badly, could that be a source of smoke coming into passenger compartment. Lastly, Engine just started to backfire and running rough. 129K on engine.

that would be the rear main seal, or the front seal?
