Check engind light comes on when driving hard

When the car is under hard acceleration (like a race) the damn check engine light comes and the car performance goes down hill. Anybody got any ideas?

Could be TPS sensor but why not scan the fucker and know for sure. What year is it?

Re: Check engind light comes on when driving hard

ahh the gratuitous cursing...no place like AF.

I think it might be the Oxygen sensor. when mine went bad it didn't even turn the dummy light on. not unless I had been driving for a very very long time on the highway. could be MAF/MAP sensor too... but like he said... see if any codes come up.

P.S. don't by the Bosch oxygen sensor, pay the extra $30 for the factory unit that actually works.

Re: Check engind light comes on when driving hard

or like formula said, you could run it for codes and rule out the guess work.

but guessing is so much more fun.. you can end up fixing 10 or 12 things and spending hundreds of dollars before you get it right... we all love doing that...

Instantkevin, thats exactly what happens to my car. Formula, don't ban me but the car's is in the sig (i have no way to put pictures up). Kaotik, that shit is not fun, thats pretty much what i do most of the time, but i do get a lot of new parts and empty pockets when i'm done. Now that i think about it, i do love doing that.
