Progress: Honda Integra Type R 1995

This is the Fujimi model (1:24 scale). I've been working on it for about a week now, mostly sorting out the ride height. I took about 3mm out of it. Today I primered everything.

In this picture the red rings show where i removed plastic and opened it up. I will put mesh behind these holes.

Here is the chassis which is painted the colour that the body will be. A metallic green.

And here are the wheels i will be using. The kränze Cerberus.

Looking likes its going to be a fun build! I like that green on the chassis. What size are those wheels? Are you keeping the suspension stock?

Re: Progress: Honda Integra Type R 1995

Yeah the wheels fit fine. They are 18 inch.
Instead of cutting down the suspension i made holes in the chassis so that the shocks go through those holes and lower the car.

I have tried shortening socks before but with bad results.

Re: Progress: Honda Integra Type R 1995

As stated, interesting way to lower a model car. I'd like to give that method a shot on my next build. Thanks for sharing your technique.

Re: Progress: Honda Integra Type R 1995

Thanks guys. I thought you would all say i was stupid or something.
It's not the most elegant way to lower a car and I'm sure the detail freaks would like to strangle me, but personally i think it is a very effective way of lowering. I'm not sure if it is usable on a car with an engine bay though, but for curbsides it does the job. I would just say that there are other places that you will have to take plastic from and the swing arms i heated and bent upwards to fit right. I also needed to modify the rod that makes sure the wheels face in the same direction.

Hi Vtak. How far have you got? Everyone should build one of these. Quite a simple kit but looks cool.

More progress

Here's where i am so far.
The underside is done. And i have painted the body with the colour and will do the clear coat very soon.
Then i have to finish the interior. Which is dark grey with red accents and seats.
