Question 91 lx 1.9L with a few problems

Ok first off i'm not all too mechanically inclined
an thanks in advance for the replys i get

the vehical is a 91 escort lx with the 1.9L no bells or whistles

first problem is there seems to be a rattling underneath the car every time i excelerate i though it might be the heat shield but it's not seems too be coming for the exhaust pipes just wondering if it could be from the cat. when the excelerator is pressed the pipe before the cat. seems to move a lil kinda makes a ^ but not so steep

second issue is the radiator fan doesn't work an if i let the car idle it will overheat so i just need to know how too test the fan (which wire too cut to hook to the battery there's 4 of them on one side with a white jumper)

third issue is it seems to make like a perculating sound (liquid boiling)
kinda like when your camping an brewing coffee through an old perculator
(now if it gave me coffee i wouldn't care but there's no coffee)

so any ways that's probably not all but it's a start so
PLEASE HELP..

Problem #1: Probably the 'doughnut gasket' between the exhaust head pipe and the catalytic converter. You will see 3 bolts with springs. Take that apart and replace the gasket.

Problem #2: Check the 40A Cooling fan fuse with a trouble light. The problem could be the ECT Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. It signals the computer to turn the fans on, and they operate through low and high speed relays. You don't need to cut any wires, just unplug the connector to the fan, and then use a jumper from the battery to the yellow wire terminal on the lo speed fan, black wire terminal will be (-) ground. (Note: I don't see a white jumper wire on the diagram. Are you looking at the fan connector?)

Problem #3: Radiator and/or heater core needs flushing or air in the system.
