Civic EK engine upgrade
I just bought 2nd civic ferio (EK) VI 1999, Jap spec. I am wonder to upgrade the engine into sir (EG) B16a.
1. Is it the engine suitable for EK model, what are the things that i have to change if i want to use into my EK? 2. If i want to change into B18c, is it suitable with my EK body? |

Re: Civic EK engine upgrade
they are both suitable...
the eg models are older than urs and u might have to check the regulations where u live regarding that stuff...i.e...if ur allowed to put in older engines into newer bodies... other than that though both b16a will boltright up..b18c maybe minor mod. |

Re: Civic EK engine upgrade
Engine, tranny, axles, ecu, mounts, shiftlinkage. You'll also need a OBD2b to OBD1 conversion harness (because there are different plugs that connect to the ECU). You'll also need to change out the alternator and distributor for OBD2 ones, because the OBD1 parts have different connectors than your OBD2 engine harness.
You could skip all that stuff and just get the engine, tranny, axles, ecu, mounts, and shiftlinkage; if you got a '99+ B-series engine. It's up to you though. |
