Why doesnt my car start?

A week ago I notice that my car wasn't turning on properly. I drive a 96 ls 5 speed. Well at periods of time when I try to turn on the engine nothing happens, like there's no engine noise or anything. I turn the key like 5 times for it to turn on. There's power in my car but like theres like no noise when I attempt to turn on the engine. So what do you guys think could be wrong?

Mine is doing the exact thing now and has been for the past year. It is getting progressively worse. The starter is going bad. It is an easy fix for the most part but the starter in our cars is a pain in the rear to get to.
