ae86 levin 2 door

Ive almost finished this one. Just have to finish a bit on the engine and the window trim. I also may put some decals on the body. what do you guys reckon? the paint is also a bit crap, but it looks okay on my shelf, so i dont want to do it again. Also i need to paint the underside of the bonnet i think, the top has a cf decal.

heres the rear, you can se ei hand painted the rear spoiler here. same with my shoddy window trims. well any comments welcome.

Re: ae86 levin 2 door

well i got some new pictures seeing its the holidays and im bored. i dont have any really interesting ideas for pictures so theres not much new to see. i did finish my strut brace though, its not too great, but i didnt want to cf it. i still have more engine details, but i lost some of them. also i just noticed i need to paint the mirrors. also the paint is very amatuer, ill just say its a drift car

my engine without the extra details

the interior, you can see the little handset on the dash. no need for a radio of course!

tinted lights and exhaust, dont mind the cheap spoiler paint again

oh yukky paint, but nice dish and tires.

Very cool outcome! Is the motor pure scratchbuilt?

Re: ae86 levin 2 door

the motor is made up of random peices i had in my parts box. the head is from two cam covers from some v8. the block is some mercedes diecast engine. and random pulleys. not exact, but looks alright.

Re: ae86 levin 2 door

Looks very cool. I've actually rekindled some inspiration for my Corolla project with engine. Hopefully I'll be posting some pics within the week. Good job on your engine bay though. It's pretty accurate.

Re: ae86 levin 2 door

yeah it would be good to see another corolla engine. today i looked at this car again, and now i wonder whether the bumpers should be black. or some decals. what does anyone think? im kind of undecided.

Re: ae86 levin 2 door

the kit is the fujimi ae86 levin 2 door. ID-61 the box says. its late model version of the 2 door levin.
*also*
i decided to decal it. the randomish decals now suit the relatively poor paint job and make it look more like a track car. also i finished the window trims including inbetween the rear window and doors.
