Dodge Stealth???

I was just looking for some help trying to make a decision. I am looking into buying a 95 dodge stealth (RT Preferably, Non-Turbo) But when i was at my local mechanic he tried to turn me away from it but never gave me any real reasons to why. I know a few people who drive them and swear by them. So could anybody provide me a helping hand....

Re: Dodge Stealth???

Notice he didn't give any reason, don't listen to him. They're solid cars, why do you want to stay away from turbo though? In any case good choice on your car.

Re: Dodge Stealth???

Well the thing with any car is the timing belt and water pump, mostly the belt and check to see that the pumps not leaking. the timing belt should be replaced every 60,000 miles so check when it was last done. And yea even more important (in my mind) is the gears grinding, shift it real quuick through 3rd and see if they grind and how notchy it is, grinding is bad, nochynes is usually pretty normal. It shouldent make any wierd noises or smoke, well it may tick a bit but thats not anything to worry about.
