OK, i need to know a couple of things. first off, do they sell adapter brackets for a 350 swap into a 87 s-10? if so, aare they weld in or bolt in? and will the same mounts work with a 400ci? also? I now plan on backing it up with a 350 turbo tranny. what cars came equipped with those, that way when i go junkyard hunting ill know what to look in? also what kind of torque converter am i going to need? This s-10 is going to be a complete work of art when im done with it, taking on a complete SS transformation. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. also, one more thing....do you think i could get emblems made that say SS-10?

Re: 400 small block conversion
all small blocks have the same bolt pattern ie 4.3 5.7 and the 400 as long as its a small block, those and all between are the same

Re: 400 small block conversion
I'll ask my mechanic friend tomorrow about the best choice of cars for the transmission. The Old vans, and I believe pickups are the best source for 400's. Again I'll ask my friend which years to look at.
The emblems made up will cost you a pretty penny. Your best to just take a SS emblem and look for a dash, and a 10 that match closely (look at old Ford F-100's) Or just come up with the design and have stickers made up. They can computer cut them for dirt cheap. |
