Nimrod Mechanic
OK. When the mechanic I had legalize my maro, he hooked up the horn, but the dumbass
put the friggin steering wheel on crooked (ie now I can't see the guages). So I bought this steering wheel puller to see if I could fix it, because I figured if this guy can't put it on right the first time....So anyway I get the cover off, I get the guts out, and I go to out the screws for the puller in and.... THE DAMN HOLES ARE STRIPPED. (Which is why the prick "don't have the time" to fix it). Now what? If I get a tap to redo the threads doesn't that make the holes bigger in diameter, and is that a bad thing? Also when I look into the holes that the puller's screws go into, there's two different colors of metal.... should I only put the puller's screws in so far, or do I screw them in as far as they'll go? Like, is the the first color the steering wheel, and the second color metal part of the column?

Re: Nimrod Mechanic
Unfortantly, now that you touched it. He is going to claim you did it. I would put it together as of the best of your ability and bring it back and raise hell til they fix it.
