what exactly is this thing?

ok, ive been reading up on the parthenon. i dont really understand what it is. is it just the motor structure for a sub? where is the cone, surround, mounting bracket, basket? how does this thing work? and how much power does it require? is it a free air driver or can it be enclosed? the adire website doesnt explain any of this. can anyone answer some of these questions?

Re: what exactly is this thing?

Didn't just have a discussion about this thing in another thread? From what I remember, it's just a driver that has insane amounts of travel. I think someone said like 30 cm in both directions. One person also said that a 9v battery caused it to move 2.5 inches and stay there.
