2000 Monte Carlo 3.8 engine temp gauge not working?

I have a 2000 3.8L SS that has a temperature gauge that is not working. I first replaced the ECT sensor, beneath the exhaust, and the thermostat. With no luck, I am wondering if there is another sensor that works the gauge. My fans are running continously and the A/C compressor will not engage. Any ideas??????????

I had the same problem on the same car about a month ago. After I installed the sensor I had to take it and get the check engine light reset. Most auto parts stores do it for free. The other thing it could be is the gauge itself. anyhow after they reset it the fans went back to normal and everythig was good. hope this helps.

Thanks, I found a bad splice in the gauge wire. All is well now after resetting codes as well.
