Is the XLT capable? Need help

I need to tow my camaro from Reno to Las Vegas next month(approx 800 mi). Do you guys think my 99 xlt 4.0 is up to it? Never towed anything that have that far? Any tips? Thanks guys.

Try to position the car on trailer so that the tongue weight is around 250 pounds. You should be OK. Be sure the cooling system and transmission are in good shape. Watch temp gauge. Go for it.

Check your brake system on your Explorer. Follow what #2 said and you should be good to go.

Tell you what. I will be in Reno near the 1st of May. How about I give you $50 for the Camaro and you do not have to worry about damaging the Explorer by towing it.
