If you're going to replace the engine and you want more horsepower you might want to install a V-8. I'ts a fairly common swap.

Why are you replacing the engine?

Does it need repair or is it running? I have 270k on mine and it runs amazing, the only reason you should replace it is if the cost of repairs is more than a new engine or if you really want something to show off like a 305/350 engine.

If you keep up with all the maintenance, you can get a lot more miles out of it. I've seen them go well over 300,000.

Especially with a TBI 4.3L.

They are bulletproof.

Re: can some one give me some advice

You can change the TBI out for an Edelbrock power package if you decide to rebuild . My area , a rebuild is about $800 bucks US. a reman engine from Autozone is $1700 for the 4.3 . The power package would give you 200+ hp for about $550. Thats my next step . Tired old TBI has too much trouble for me .
