Subaru Concept Coupe

Here's a concept I sketched today, it took about 4 hours. Most of that time was spent sketching out a final design I was happy with. I start with a light pencil, a 5H or 6H. Then I detail and darken the lines with a 4H so I can still erase easily when I make mistakes. Then trace with black pen and color it. Markers of choice were Design, Sharpie, and a BIC roller ball black pen.

My Inspiration: For those that follow Subaru you already know that they are incorporating a new face to the product line that starts with the B9 Tribeca. I used that as my main focus on the front end design. I was basically trying to come up with my vision of a future performance coupe, an SVX/Alcyone for 2008. If I had my way I would probably power it with a 330hp normally aspirated H6 with 5sp AT and an STi version with a 355hp turbo 2.5 mated to a 6sp MT, priced at about $37-$39k. It would be about the size of a Lexus SC430, and the wheels wouldn't be this big in a production version.

Re: Subaru Concept Coupe

Good job. The wheels make it look a bit cartoonish but the rendering and design is great.

To draw with a broken pencil is pointless.

Re: Subaru Concept Coupe

Great work. Except the wheels, it does not look like a concept, looks more than it's already on the streets.
Great use of marker. I also admire your your thoughts on the cars performance. The Subaru guys could immediately start building it.

This B9 somehow reminds me of a Cayenne...

Thanks for all the comments, appreciated.

I agree that the majority of concept cars are exaggerated, but technically if an idea only exists on paper then it too is just a concept.

Re: Subaru Concept Coupe

Nice rendering. Not a big fan of the background though, almost looks a bit rushed. Otherwise, nice work.
