You might be a car nut if...

Your living room looks like this:

LOL, I was cleaning up and decided to share our model displays with you guys. Here's our TV stand:

It's a bit messy right now, since I'm in the middle of the Ferrari's paint job. Some close-ups:

Some of my car book library:

More of my library:

So, am I certifiable?

Re: You might be a car nut if...

Yes ma'am we can diagnose you with Carnutitis, and you seem to have a pretty well developed case. Luckily, it's treatable since we've caught it early enough (I don't see any barstools made from axles and closely spoked rims). Take this prescription for Synthcaritussin DM down to your pharmacy and get it filled. Take one pill once a day until the condition clears up. If it worsens, then we've caught it too late. All we can do is make you comfortable at that point, and I suggest that you play with cars, toy cars, car stuff, car parts, look at car TV, read car books, and talk car talk.

I hope, for your health, that this won't cause you too much undue pain.

Dr. Mo

This might be part of the reason:

Willimo--If you look in the far right lower corner of the first picture, you'll see a 2001 Corvette wheel that I plan to make into a table. It could be worse than you think.

LOL, half my posters are back home because I can't afford frames. At my old house, I had over 200 Johnny Lightnings/Hotwheels on the wall, along with about 15 posters, and a bookshelf with about 30 built models and 10-15 1:18 diecast cars. In our new apartment I've tried to be conservative.

Here's the other side of the living room:

About the table, I'm going to have an axle cut down to about knee-high, weld it to a base, and mount the wheel to it. I need to get a centercap for the wheel, but that should only be about $30 on eBay. Then I'll pick up a piece of circular glass at a hobby store (I've seen them at Michael's, anyway). I hope to get that done next summer.

I spy Hot Wheels cases. Older ones as the new design case is a cube.

Collect Hot Wheels?

Frank, I think you definitely qualify as a car nut. However, I think you have way too many unbuilt models... I'd be more than happy to take a few of those off your hands.

btw- I take it you're a big fan of pandas too?
