V8 Lumina?

I remember reading about the Lumina SS 4-5 years back.
I'd love a 350 and a slick body kit on my Lumina, too bad they didn't release it in America. Anyone have one?

Re: V8 Lumina?

A couple of people on here have them. It's the same car as that new Pontiac GTO built by Holden.

Re: V8 Lumina?

Holden's got some cool stuff, and it's all got better power than what we get. That pisses me off. They still build the Caprice, too. Nice car.

Where were they released? I think that's its BS that they go release that somewhere else even though Chevy is an American Company.
But I do have a video clip of one in action

I dont if it will work for you guys because you have to be a member of that site.

.
I know they were available as a Chevrolet in the Middle East, like Saudi, UAE, and Qatar, and also in South Africa. The Holdens were of course built for the Austrailian market, being the Aussie licensed arm of Chevrolet. Not sure where else. Apparantly, from what I've read, power is the #1 selling point in Arab countries, they don't care what kind of mileage it gets. All the advertisements "taunt" the reader about if they are "man enough" and so on to drive a car such as this

Im new to the boards and most of my days I have been a V8/rear wheel chevy driver:

1975 Chevy Malibu classic
1978 Chevy Camaro
1986 Chevy Caprice

I bought my base model 1996 lumina new(married 3 kids you know the drill) and have and due own it. Its a decent car with the 3.1, but have been getting froggy lately wanting to change.

I saw this post and was excited that there was a v8 version of the lumina.

short of the long is my question, are the SS lumina's front or rear wheel drive. I have found any front wheel V8's period, still looking, but just wondering.

Thanks

Re: V8 Lumina?

If you want a FWD V8, go grab an Aurora or Caddy. Or, I think I remember seeing someone swap a Northstar into an N body with a tight fit, but he also did a RWD conversion on it, so meh.

I see no reason why the Northstar wouldn't fit in a W body bay, its pretty roomy, all things considered. Loads of fabwork but otherwise, sure.

As far as these Luminas and Caprices are concerned, I'd bet they're RWD, but I don't know for sure. Too lazy to go find out, too
