Sunday is lift kit day... Hints & Tips???

So tomorrow morning we'll be jacking up the Cherokee and putting on a Rancho 3" lift kit. I have four jack stands, a floor jack and all the tools I think I'll need. Looking for any hints, tips, suggestions, experiences or, barring that, any volunteers that would like to come over and do this will I sit and watch, give directions, drink some ice-cold Coronas and bbq the ribs. I'll even let you have a couple. (When you're done of course). Forecast is sunny and warm, ya'll are invited!! Thanks everybody

make sure you have penetrating lube as you WILL need it to remove the bolts holding the stock shackles on. I did mine last monday, was not that bad, Just don't start with Caronas until you are 1/2 way done....

Wink Re: Sunday is lift kit day... Hints & Tips???

Well that was a good learning experience. THe first thing was to make sure that all the parts are in the box. My one day planned job turned out to be two days. I started out with the rear and was missing the bolt that holds all the leaves together.

On the second day completing the front and learning it will be much easier usng a spring compression tool.

The best advise recieved was to pre-lubricate the nuts and bolts prior to starting this job.

And that you can never have toooo much Corona while workng on your Jeep :-).

Now that it is complete, the Jeep looks really good.

Too bad we did not get any takers to come and assist in this endevour (beer included).

If you happen to have an older Jeep it is recommended that you change out the rubber bushings while your completing your lift.

Happy Jeepin... :-)
