Question 2.8 to 3.4?and body Q

ok i hear that you can swith out your 82 to 92 2.8 engine for a 93 to 95 3.4 engine. if you know anything about it like wether its worth it and if its easy or how much its estimated to cost and thats not including the engine...like how much u think if i had the engne already. and is it alot faster? and are there more mods to do to it? also where can i get replacement fiberglass body panels for cheap... or even just normal replacements for a 88 camaro? thanks alot--tom

Re: 2.8 to 3.4?and body Q

if you don't mind dealing with all of the wiring...it should not be too expensive of a swap. The V8 swap is a shitload more expensive cause you have to get a v8 tranny too. And a whole lot more power means a whole lot more upgrades are necessary (suspension, brakes, etc). This is probably a reasonable swap. If you are doing the work yourself, the cost shouldn't be much more than what you pay for the engine.

Unless you already have the motor, why not the 3.8?
