when should the spark plugs and/or the wires be replaced?
It looks like it is quite difficult to get the plugs out. Can anyone share the experience with me please? thanks! |

Re: tune up interval caravan 99 2.4L
The wires are generally good for 3 years. They should be replaced when the insulation around them shows signs of cracks and age.
Spark plugs are your car's zip and zing not to mention a heavy part of any emmissions controls. If you are a novice, be warned: Use an anti seize compound on the threads of the plugs when you install them. Those super long life plugs may be good for 4-5 years, but without the anti seize compound, the plug will weld itself into the threads after a few years. The next time you remove the plugs, the threads of your aluminum head engine will rip out. |
