Change oil light

I recenty changed my oil and tried resetting my PCM by Pushing the pedal to the floor 3 times then starting the car. The oil light flashed but now it comes on when i start my car and goes away after a few seconds. Is this normal? I'm a new owner of a 3.1l SE

If it's just a few seconds thats perfectly normal. If it stays on longer your reset didn't take. Do you have an owners manual? Did you do the procedure exactly as printed? Did it flash a confirmation at you?

Owners manuel yes. Flash yes. It just stays on a few seconds longer than the Traction and low traction light.

Re: Change oil light

Mine does too. When it is telling you it is time for an oil change, it will stay on virtually all the time. This happens about every 12-15 k for me as I drive all highway. The thing is useless - ignore it. Just change your oil every 3-5k depending on habits and reset the dash light whenever it comes on so it wont annoy you.
