Rust R Us ?

Changing the oil on my 2004 Denali (6775 miles). Noticed CV s ( Boots excepted) Driveshafts- Shocks(Front) Steering Knuckles all covered in RUST. Anybody else notice this or am I missing some underbody corrosion protection?
Could not locate a TSB addressing this condition.
Any comment Yea or nay appreciated.

Thanks
Bob

Re: Rust R Us ?

Is it just surface rust? If so, it should be alright. If the parts are actually starting to rot away...then you've got some problems.

I think the rust proofing stuff is optional, but I could definatly be wrong. Maybe someone else will know.

Thanks for the response. It is just surface rust, but I have a 15 year old Trooper that looks better underneath than my almost new Denali. Just another example of GM wanting premium prices, while being penny wise & pound foolish.
