Caliper Removal
do you need a special tool to remove the caliper? I'm looking back there and it isnt just a regular bolt, you need something that will actually go inside of the hole to get it off?
how the hell do you do it? |

It's a hex wrench (more commonly called an Allen wrench). Any auto parts store carries them in a variety of shapes/forms, wrench, socket,l-wrench, etc. Ask at the parts store for a GM Caliper removal wrench.
Approximate size is ,375 in or 10mm, someone can correct me if I'm wrong. |

Re: Caliper Removal
ya I thought thats what it was...dammit....already went to the store to buy a bigger c-clamp cause I figured when I pushed the piston back and the bolts came out, they would be regular ones....clearly not
looks like another trip to the store! blah |

Re: Caliper Removal
Some are Torx bolts as well, mine are. if it is Torx (star shaped), then it will most likely be a t-50. If it is DO NOT use an Allen in it, you will damage it most likely.
And remember 38 Ft. Lbs torque ,please, on those when putting them back on.
