Unhappy Interior Lighting Problem...

I have a 93 Civic DX hatchback i got from some dude for 500 bucks. It has its problems but im doing a motor swap on it so im not worried about the motor. When i got the car and me and my buddies started to fix the car up, so i got in it one nite and fired it up. It started and all , it runs kinda rough and burns oil like the olympic torch. But when i turned on the headlites my interior lites don't come on at all. The whole dash is pitch black except for the lite that says BRAKE for the hand brake being on and check engine lite. The dimmer switch for them is all the way on, i checked all the fuses under the steering wheel and none of them are blown. I think it might be a wiring porblem but im not to sure can anyone give me any ideas as to where to go from here?

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.
