ignition/door locks

My sister has a `03 stratus I think , whenever they changed the body style, anyways last week someone stole her keys from work but didnt take the car they stole her friends car instead ( a taurus wagon ) She called the dealer to find out about getting the ignition and all the locks changed and they wanted around $800 to do this. It seems a bit excessive but she cant find any local shops who could do it. I had thought of geting new locks from a junkyard but there aren`t any in her area, I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas or suggestions, I`d hate to see her spend so much to do her locks, she already spent alot of money to re- key the doors on her house. any help would be appreciated.

HI there if u dont want to spend that much money go with a aftermarket failsafe starter kill. I have installed a few of these things its made by DEI known as Viper model 103T Digital Failsafe StarterKill
This product prevents the starter from cranking when ever the system is armed the dash mounted keypad . u enter a code to arm and disarm this starter switch with out the code will not active the starter. web site for unit www.drdetailshop.com on main page go to alarm add/ons just find a dealer were u are from.

Re: ignition/door locks

I had suggested it to her, I have viper alarms on both my vechicles. She`s kind of ofraid this guy might trash her interior, I guess he`s been stalking her friend and know where they work and all that stuff, I also told her that even if she was to change the locks if this guy still wants to trash her car all he has to do is break the window. but I`ll run the idea by her again anyways.
