Unhappy Sold my baby today

Well I just sold my beloved FTO. I know I should be happy, but I still feel sad.

My biggest fear is that it will now become a rice mobile!

Congrats on the sale, FTO. Hope ya got a good amount of $$ for the car

I hate it too, when I have to sell a car and then later I see it being treated like crap and not properly maintained. It makes me want to go up to the person and slap them.

In your case, if they rice it out, and you see them crusing around....you can teach them a lesson with the skyline

ahhh ya sold it ... good on ya.........best thing I find is, not to see it again, so you don't have to know wether its been riced or well looked after...........the first car I ever had I actually sold to a colleague of mine at work and he looked after it well, and after a while I couldn't be bothered about it anyways......my second car sold it just over a year ago, haven't heard from the buyer, nor have I seen it since ...not that it mattered much cause I was glad to get rid of it.....

Hehe, that’s true. I got an OK price for the car, not as much as I would have liked, but then that’s always the way. They say that you lose about $2,000 each year on a second hand car, so that’s about the way it turned out.

We were thinking about putting a clause in the sale agreement saying that if they were to rice it up in anyway firstly they had to change the licence plate and secondly they had to put a new exhaust tip on it because the one that I had I never saw on any other FTO. Just so that I won't recognise it if I see it and it's been riced up

Try to think of it as an adoption...........I'm sure that it went to a kind little old lady who needed a car for her Sunday trip to church.....

Yeah right. The new owners came over yesterday and they are far from little old ladies!

Well, congrats on your sale even if you're a bit sad!

You will be strong. You can make it through the initial withdrawal! j/k

Hehe thanks. I know to most people it must seem really weird, I mean it’s just a car and it doesn’t have feelings, but for some strange reason I just get really attached to my cars.

I know how ya feel FTO. When I traded in my 93 Escort for my Neon, I had parked the Escort on the side of the building where the showroom was. I got to drive my Neon off the glorious new car platform that they had right out front. After my car came off the ramp, there was the Escort sitting all alone on the side of the building. It felt like I was abandoning it. I felt kinda bad, because that was my car in college and I had a lot of fun times in it carting friends around to parties or going on group road trips. On the other hand, I was driving away in my frist brand new car...and I got it all on my own without any parental help. Then the thought of the $2500+ repair problems the Escort had confirmed that I was doing the right thing

Glad that you are free of the financial shackles that come with a surplus car,but I never get attatched to any of my vehicles(probably because most of them are old and ugly before I buy them).I have not had to face selling a car for a long time either.......most of my cast-offs get put to death at the dirt track!

That’s exactly it! I haven’t been able to truly enjoy my new car since I got it because everytime I get into it, my poor FTO was sitting right there by the side of it. I felt really guilty driving my new car. At least now I will be able to fully enjoy my new beastie!
