is it difficult?
how easy or how hard is it to replace a passenger side front axle? i have a new one on the driverside but need to replace the other side. once you take off thr rotors and caliper, is there a spindle nut? is that all that needs to be removed or is there something else holding it in place in the houseing? any info would be very helpfull. thanks.

Re: is it difficult?
To remove either front axle, you have to remove the hub/bearing assemble. It is held into the steering knuckle by three bolts from the back side. They are a 12 point head (at least on mine). The hub can be stuck fairly tight in the knuckle even after you get the bolts out - I had to replace one of the bolts after I used it "improperly" to get the hub out.
the axle nut is torqued to 175 ftlb and the caliper bolts 15 ftlb when you put things back together. JD |

JD pretty much sumed it up. It is a litlle easier if you have a puller to remove the hub and you should remove the Wheel Speed Sensor.

Re: is it difficult?
The hardest part about this is the HUB NUT/AXLE NUT. I could never get the NUT off, I broke a CRAFTSMAN BREAKER BAR trying to get it off, fortunately I didn't need to get it off like I originally thought (I was replacing the Ball Joints).
