I am a college student with little money. I have a 1999 Explorer Limited, about two months ago i was involved in an accident 30 - 35 mph, front end had $2000 + in damage when i picked it up from the body shop they said your airbags should have deployed both front sensors were smashed. (is there another system that could have stopped them like a failsafe or another sensor?) Then i pull a carfax today just out of curiousity and it is showing an accident with airbag deployment in 2000, way before i bought the car. The body shop replaced my sensors and my light airbag light works fine (always has, even after the accident it worked fine with smashed sensors, this put up a red flag for me). How can i find out if there is a more serious problem with the airbags from the 2000 accident, the body shop said the computer found nothing wrong with the airbags but im nervous now. Shouldnt the airbags have deployed in my accident, and why didnt the airbag light come on with smashed sensors? I know this is confusing but i could really use some advice. Thanks
