Intake Gasket/EGR Ports
My 96 3.8l has been skipping to the point the CEL will flaaash at times. I get an antifreeze smell in the vehicle when stopped and get the typical p0101/p0104 codes. The guy i bought the van from in Jan. said he the van needed head gaskets and he is a Ford dealer mechanic. But from what I have read on here and other sites it sounds like i just need to do the TSB regarding cleaning the EGR ports. Does this sound correct? I have also read that the valve coover should also be replaced in this process becuase Ford actually improved it?? Is this correct?? THanks for the help!!!
