My 01 CV Sport did not come with the owners manual, so I have no idea how big the gas tank is. I am fairly certain it is a 20 gallon tank as our GM and my old CV had 20 gallon tanks. The thing is the fuel gauge showed empty and the fill was only 15 gallons. I was wondering how I was getting less miles per tank even though the MPG are higher than our 95 GM.

Re: Tank size
The fuel tank is exactly the same physical size as that in your old car, you are correct. However, to improve the evaporative emissions system function, the filler pipe has been legthened so the actual useable capacity of the tanks was reduced to 19 gallons for the 1998 and newer models.

Re: Tank size
Thats what I though. My gauge is way off then if the miles to empty say less than 25 with 4 gallons still in the tank, which makes it more like 84 miles to empty.

My 84 CV has an 18 gal tank, or at leat that what the manual says, and when the low fuel light comes on, there are ~4gal left in it. MY guage also goes past the F and past the E.

Re: Tank size
Big difference between an 84 and a 2001. I have a digital dash, I think the sender is off.
