Question Maxima 93

Hi i have a Nissan Maxima 93. Several days ago when i was driving my clock, streo, and car alarm stoped working. I was thinking that my fuses broke. But i changed them and still no change. Can someone please tell me what might be the problem ??

THANKS A MILLION!

Re: Maxima 93

I have the same car and problem . I've been looking all over the internet for information but I can't find any except from car repair places.

I tried replacing the fuses, both Bose Audio and the other audio fuses, to no avail.

I took out the stereo (not all the way though, because I don't know where to follow the power cord to so I can unplug it) and noticed 3 sockets in the back. Two of them were square-ish and plugged into something, I assume front and rear speakers, then there was a third round socket with several holes for pins. I was curious if maybe there was another plug in there that had somehow loosened over time and fell back inside the car somewhere (I didn't see anything, but I also didn't look that hard because it was dark out).

I also did some research a while ago that said that maybe a fuse inside the system was blown (if you tried to replace this one let me know).

The system still lights up and everything, but it won't power on.

I want to figure this out because I've been driving in silence for about a year...

actually i just re-read your post and realized that your clock and car alarm stopped also. mine still work.

another funny problem is that if all doors are locked and i try to unlock them from the driver's side (unlock once for driver and two for all doors) there's about a 50/50 chance that the second turn will unlock all the doors. the funny this is that even if the driver door unlocks (but the second turn doesn't unlock all doors), if i open that door then the car alarm will go off. so now when i unlock the car, if i can't unlock all the doors I have to walk around to the other side of the car and open from the passenger side to avoid having the car alarm go off... fun stuff.

i love the car tho, it's got 176k on it and i wish i knew enough about cars to keep it running another 176k longer

Re: Maxima 93

Check the relays under the bonnet.
