Muffler Size

hey, i'm still getting started in the import scene, i want to get a new performance muffler for my 03 lancer es, but i don't know what size to get. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT

well, if you're just going to replace the muffler, you're just going to make the car louder and only gain 1 or 2 hp at most. the stock exhaust pipe is probably 2" so I would obviously go with a muffler with a 2" inlet

are you for sure it's 2 inches on an es? i want to know for sure before i buy anything.

to be sure, take a peice of string and slip it around the pipe, then measure the length of string that it took to go around the pipe, then divide that number by 3.14, the resulting # will be close to the outside diameter of the pipe.

or you could just measure opening of the exhaust tip. from top of tip to bottom. much easier, same effect.
