Camaro not starting

Alright i'll start from where problems started occuring, okay I was washing the car and used the foam brush thing and I guess some of the soap got inside of the hood because the day after I checked it out and it had like white spots everywhere. I then took it back and used the engine/tire cleaner on the engine to get the soap off then I rinsed it out, well when I drove it the car idled really high, like I would take my foot off the pedal and the revs would keep up so it would maintain speed like if it had cruise control on. So I thought it had some of the tire/engine cleaner still on the engine so I decided to do it again, this time it was running pretty good and it was acting like it did before, which was it kept wanting to die right after I started it, so I was like "Alright back to square one" and now TODAY the car doesnt want to start, anybody have any ideas? its a 92 V6.
