Re: motor winding?

did you check your oil? turbo or NT? does the noise change with rpm or with wheel speed? does it change when you push in the clutch (if you have one)

put the year, make, model, engine, trans, and any mods in your sig so you dont forget

Re: motor winding?

a spun bearing usually makes a knocking noise not a winding noise. does it change with rpm or wheel speed? does it change when you push in the clutch?

Re: motor winding?

could it be something in the tranny maybe? motor noises usually knock really loud, not whine. maybe a wheelbearing, or maybe something in the tranny too if your losing all your power.

Re: motor winding?

i dont think its coming from the tranny and it ant the wheel bearing. could it be a cam shaft bearing poss or is my crank walking? i think i might just run it till she blows i need a new motor anyways

Re: motor winding?

does it change when you push the clutch in and out. not to doubt you but in my experience whining noises are usually from the trans or wheels

Re: motor winding?

6 bolts came in 89-92's so you don't have to worry about crankwalk I have never ever ever seen a 6bolt crankwalk. But the winding I have no idea what it could be...bearings sounds like a good bet, but go take it to get checked out to be sure.
