Manual driving....

Ok...

I was driving my friends S40 volvo, and the clutch was sooo hard to push in that i stalled it like 3 times...

Then i drove my friends Camry manaul...and it was soo easy to drive, clutch was heaps easier...and didnt stall it once...

Why is there a harder clutch?...i heard high performance cars, (like mine ) , and wrxs...have hard clutches...why why why???

hahahahahahahahahahahah... *deep breath* hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Ok - I feel better now. Try driving a Walkinshaw Commodore or a A9X Torana or a Porshe or an E-type Jag - Volvo clutches are soft as butter by comparison

My guess is the clutch setups - often cable clutches feel different to hydraulic (cant remember if the Camry was ever cable or not). Anyway, it comes down to design philosophy more than anything else..

is it to do with power displacement at all?

Like every turbo car i have driven, has well usually a hard clutch.

U wanna check out the clutch in mi VR4 compared to mi teg. Man it is crazy, however i have a fuken hardcore clutch in the vr, its a 3 puck job, and the friction point is mental, its either on or off, its just like a brass button one, so intense. Everyone i know, has said that mi clutch is so extreme that its fuken stuiped in a street going car. Its that crazy!! Wen i first got it, I couldnt drive for shit, then wen i got in mi mates ef9, i was like, "the clutch isn't coming out" this was cos mi left leg is so powerful now that i was putting mi foot down as hard as i could (which u have to do in the vr)

hehe :hehehe:

If the hardness of a clutch has got to do with the cars performance, then a LADA is the worlds best performing car!!

They have either a truck or tractor clutch, and its impossible to move.

erm......no.. .....it's to do with the design of the clutch system
every car is different....you will even find that some models will have variations from unit to unit(80's British cars were notoriously inconsistent)due to poor machining/assembly of the linkeages.

I have used just about every clutch in existance at the carwash. It seems it has to be harder to get more power to the ground. Skylines and shit and race style modded cars have bitches of clutches. I don't stall 'em but sometimes smoke em.

I meant like, If u got the power, then u gunna need a hardcore clutch to handle it, otherwise u gunna get the slippage!

Thats wat i meant, like more power u got, means better ur clutch has to be!
