BMW Lock Cores

Well, it only took 2 weeks before someone tried to break in to my '92 E36 325i. They destroyed the lock on the passenger side, but failed to get the door open. Does anyone know what is involeved in replacing the lock core, and how much this typically runs? I'm assuming only a BMW dealer can do this job, or can a locksmith do it?

Re: Re: BMW Lock Cores

I called the dealer today, and they said the lock cylinder is sold as a repair kit for $35, plus an extra $25 or so to code the lock to my key. What a relief- I was thinking this was gonna cost me 3 digits!
