I think i'll change my shorts now!!

Howdy y'all. When I got off work tonight, my co-worker with a 2000 Monte SS and I thought it would be fun to race away from the work place. I have a 1997 Blazer 4X4 and I new i'd get smoked but thought what the hell. As we hammered it from a 20 mph roll the Monte pulled about a car on me in the right lane and as I was watchjng the tach and her, I neglected to see the deer about 40 yards ahead. When I saw the deer (I don't know whos eyes were bigger) I jammed the brakes and at 65-70 mph my blazer got sideways as the monte was leaving me in the dust and the deer stood in the road staring at me, all I could think about was when Bill Cosby said "shit, first you say it then you do it." All in all it wasn't to bad, I got beat, the deer didn't die, Blazers tip easilly and I need new pants. Hope your night is better than mine. AND ALWAYS KEEP CLEAN SHORTS ON HAND IN CASE OF DEER.

reminds me of a story of someone my friend knows, he goes to school up in purchase ny, over there, its like the boonies. his friend in the SRT-4 was just driving home maad tired, and all of hte sudden he saw a deer and he couldn't move out of the way quick enough. he swore that as the deer rolled over his hood, he saw the deer's face going "eeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggghhh" and looked him in the eye while it was rolling over his hood in slow motion. the whole cars front end was totaled and the deer was dead.

I live in So. Illinois. Also known as deer central. 9 in 10 people have hit a deer.

I've dodged more deer and geese and other animals more times than I care to remember, but never hit one yet *crosses fingers*

Re: I think i'll change my shorts now!!

NW PA here and have my own fair share of deer stories. Hmm which one to tell, ok the scariest one.

I'm coming home from work in my 76 Dodge Charger Daytona, (Looks like a Cordoba) and it's about 11:30 at night and I'm doing about 70 on a 2 lane highway, I went around a curve and started descending a hill, at the very top of the uphill side the highway curves to the left and there is this car parked on a side road that angles off to the right at the curve with the high beams on and pointing straight in my lane, as I cross the bridge at the bottom of the hill and start my climb back up again I start flashing my high beams on and off and this guy doesn't dim them down, I kept repeating the flashing but to no avail so now i'm thinking this guy is an asshole so I left my high beams on, I get to the top of the hill with my vision severly blinded by this jerk and just before I started entering the curve all of a sudden I hit something HARD! The front end made impact and then I felt the rear of the car lift and it almost put me out of control, I regained control of the car after a couple of fishtails and instantly thought I ran over this guy parked on the road and started freaking! I slammed on the brakes and did a U-turn fearing the worst and drove back to where the impact was. I get there and get out and I'm shaking like mad expecting to find a dead body laying in the road, here the guy had parked on the side road road and was shining his lights on a dead deer laying in my lane that got hit by another vehicle, he was about to walk out into my lane and drag it off to the side but when he saw me coming he decided to wait until I passed then drag it off the road, my problem was my vision was so compromised by his high beams and could not see the dead deer laying in my path. First thing out of his mouth was "I saw you coming so I left my lights shining on the deer so you could see it to avoid it!" After a few choice words about being blinded by his lights and couldn't see squat I finally helped the guy drag what was left off to the berm and then we went our separate ways.

And get this, I get home and check out the car, thankfully there was no visable damage from the incident other than some fur here and there. So I go inside and get ready for bed still nervous about what happened 15 mminutes earlier, I turned on the radio's sleep timer to listen to some tunes and lull me to sleep and right off the bat what do I hear? "Blinded By The Light" by Manfred Mann's Earth Band! If I had a hammer handy I would of smashed the sucker!

In drivers ed we watched a whole damn video on dear and how to avoid them. Then at the end of the movie they told us just to hit them rather then try to avoid them and risk hitting something else or rolling

I hate deer, I went down to Del Rio, which is around 8 hours from here, and like the whole way there when it was dark, deer was everywhere, and I was following my mom so I was scared like "Oh shit, I hope she doesnt hit one" and then I see her like move out of the way and a deer just sits there and looks at me and finally runs away when it starts hearing my exhaust, fucking deer. And wtf is up with that drivers Ed vid? Talk about South park stupid, like the video they did about volcano safety to just duck and put your hands over your head and the lava will go over your head. Lol
