ZC in CRX
hey, i dont own a 1G CRX yet but i'm thinking of buying something older and swapping my ZC from my 4g civic into the CRX, just wondering what alls involved and what model i should look for, the reason behind this is i want something cheaper on insurance then my 4g hatchback altho i will be keeping the hatch for future just because its my first car.

Re: ZC in CRX
I don't think the d16 ZC's will fit in a 1st gen without major modification... If you get an Si, you'll allready have MPFI, and you could drop in a d16a1 from an integra 86-87 with no modifications whatsoever. There are other options... b-series like my plan entails... But as for putting a 4th gen motor in ours is pretty much a not going to happen thing... Hate to break it to ya, Phat... Just get it, and grab the d16a1... lxndr has experience in that issue.
Oh, andWelcome to the dark side!!!

lol, well i still havent purchased one yet, so we gotta wait and see, it will be after my court shits all settled first before i get one. its weird tho because i've seen a few 1G CRX's with DOHC ZC's in em. but if u say it cant be done then thats ok, i'll get a d16a1 somehow, mod that, and throw it in
and i can still have my hatch to have fun with.... but this all depends on insurance rates

Re: ZC in CRX
There is a JDM d16a out of the JDM integra that might be considered a ZC... I just know that the d16a1 is a direct drop in! No wiring modifications or engine mount problems. Just have to grab the ECU out of the integra and swap it out. And it's a DOHC motor. So, extra power on tap.

Re: ZC in CRX
ZC = JDM D16A1
there is another ZC which i believe is a B series SOHC motor. ZC just means that it's the top of a paticular engine family
