Hi all, my '04 Silverado has the vinyl floor which I love. As with my last truck, I've been just flooding the floor out with a hose to clean it....but I'm wondering if maybe this isnt' such a good idea if water gets underneath the vinyl and rusts/corrodes wires, floor boards etc. Anyone know if GM ever intended for their vinyl floors to have hose out capabilities?

check under the vinyl, it should have a backing. the backing will hold water and help the floor rust. in miltary trucks thay have a painted floor, with extra drain plugs. thay are made to be washed with a hose. |

I got a little too exuberant with hosing out the floor of my last truck. Ended up having to pull the seat and mats out, drying out the backing on the mat, and touching up the rust on the floor. Somewhat of a pain.

Re: Hose out capabilties
Hmm...doesn't sound good. I've only washed my new truck out once....do you think it's necessary to pull the seats/vinyl for that once?
