Guage problems

My car was recently broken into and somehow they managed to screw up my instrument panel in the process. The only things broken on it are that the "ets off" light stays on and none of the guages like fuel, tach, or speedometer work. Is there anything this could be that I could possibly fix myself? I've already checked the fuses and they're all intact.

Re: Guage problems

Did you check the fuses under the hood? there may be a Guage fuse out there. The only other thing I can think of is to check the wiring mak sure all of the wire are connected and/or grounded.

I only found one fusebox under the hood and everything seems to be fine there. Guess I may have to shell out the $ and take it to shop.

Re: Guage problems

When they broke in did they cut any wires or try to yank anything out of the dash? If all of the guages are inop there has to be either a single source for the cause or several things bunched together. What year is the car? And is it drivable?

They didn't cut anything, I'm supposing they tried to hotwire it or something but I really don't know. It's a 97 and driveable but the inspection and registration are out on it as I haven't driven it in awhile so I'm kinda scared to take it out on the road.
