Need clarification on rear clips

Just until recently, I was in the understanding that a "clip" was a bolt-on affair (ie: S15 Strawberry conversion for S13's). But I came across this one site where it seemed like the rear clip looked like it came from a trashed car and needed welding to install it.

Could somebody clarify this for me?
Also where would I find the 3rd gen 3SGTE rear-clip?
Thanks!

check out http://www.neishlinmotors.com/

clip is not just an engine. it is basically the part of the car with the engine chopped off... on an mr2, the back half of the car... on most other cars, the front half. you wouldn't put the whole clip on (ie, weld on the body pieces). you'd have to transplant the engine. it's just much easier to chop it off and ship as opposed to removing the engine from the car.
