Thinking of Buying 2001 Jimmy
Okay, I want to know what you all think of the 2001 Jimmy. I have heard the earlier versions werent so good, but that the 2001s were okay.
What I am looking at buying is a 4WD, 44k miles, leather interior, and I think its an SLT for around $14k. What do you guys think? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Thinking of Buying 2001 Jimmy
I love my 2001 jimmy, it has had a couple of problems but nothing to major, the main problem that i would say to watch out for is a ad front wheel bearing besided that these cars are excellent many have driven theirs to well over 250,000 miles, so good luck and come back to the forums with your jimmy, also for the price check on www.kbb.com for the dealer trade in price because that is what it is really worth, good luck

Re: Thinking of Buying 2001 Jimmy
wow, that is some pretty low mileage.
Just check to see if the maintanence was done on it at all and who owned it before. If it was owned by a rental place, AVOID.

I have a 2001 Jimmy with 91,000 miles on it. I am pretty happy with it. I've just had to replace some seals and bearings so far.

I have a 2001 Jimmy SLT, everything on it that I got two years ago with the same mileage. I paid 14k back then, so I would look into the price more. I have put 40k miles in it and have spent over $3000 (some of which was because I didn't replace the break pads) so be prepared. Otherwise I (and my friends) love my car and drive it everywhere.
