Question uneven acceloration

First I have an 89 camaro 305 TBI with a 700-R4 tranny. While accelorating it dosen't buck or anything it just kinda has little spurts and every once in a while under heavy throttle it'll give a burst of power for a second. Screwy TPS maybe??? Or possibly a O2 sensor on the fritz?? Sometimes it will kinda jerk kinda like some cars do with new clutches....except this is an auto. And I know what all people say about the 305's being slow but this isn't cool. I can hardly move ahead of stock civics. I'm certainly not meaning to bash camaro and chevy's in general at all. I'm just saying....dang.... Anyways back the the acceloration thing.... Am I crazy or has anyone else experienced this? Let me know if my vague descriptions are in fact too vague. Thanks.

Re: uneven acceloration

I have a 91 rs with a 305 TBI. my cars not very quick but when i throw the pedal all the way down it takes a second but then it kicks in and starts moving. Is that what happens to yours. And does it do it if you punch it from a stop, or from 1-2, or from2-3, or 3-4 or all
