Ok heres a cool race storie. My friend totals his grand am gets a honda. first day he gets it my other friend driving a 95 neon acr ask him to race. Well we always race. I myself driveing a 91 laser raced this neon a got beat by like4 car lenghts. well neways we drive out to where we always race a straight stratch about 3/4 mile long. they line up and off they go.first second and thrid the neon and the civic are even then the civic being gear way different hit third and the neon pulls away after hitting around 110 they both slow down. the neon won by about 5 car lenghts or more. ne ways for a first race the dx did alright can't wait till he learns to drive and shift better.

That amazes me. It looks like he is already driving pretty damn good for a DX to keep up with an ACR through second. Anyways; cool race.

Just curious what the difference is between a normal neon and a neon acr.

The Neon ACR is a "bare-bones" RT, no power windows or locks. I came with the more powerful twin-cam motor and the lightest weight, not to mention Koni shocks all around (i believe). They were designed for the weekend autox-er as an alternative to the option laden RT model and are now sought after by true Neon enthusiasts as it is best performing model ever made (until the SRT comes out
).

i saw this neon at the track and on its back window it said 2.0 sohc.
curious, i asked him what he ran, thinking he would say 15.8 or 16.0. he told me 14.4 and i was like "damn" i saw him run a 14.3. he had a 75 shot nx. i left and heard he used the 100 shot and blew his motor up. ran a 13.8 so he went down in glory! ![]() how fast are those neons(rt)? what do they run 1/4 stock?

Better than a Civic IMO.
I am not sure of the exact times but it is in the high 15s stock. |

lol polygon youre very dodge biased. Truthfully, i think a neon can be very mean, and tough looking if done correctly, but most kids put on gay droopy dual exhaust, cut springs, and sunstrips and just make them look gay.
The Neon SRT4 will be a badass car, although i HATE the styling of it. |
