Dome light over ride button

I jsut bought a 1997 safari and it has no manual . When I went to get out the dome light didnt come on, so I ppushed hte dome light over ride button, what is this? Anyway, now the lights wont go off! HELP!!!

My 2002 has a dome light override button. Pushing it twice quickly turns off and on the daytime running lights. The selector wheel just to the right of the override button is used to keep the dome lights on continuously. Try rotating the wheel to see if the lights go off.
