I'm back, kinda... and Dyno results.

Hey guys... Sorry I havent been around much. I've been very busy with 97_3clipse's car. That has been such a pain, I have never seen a car that had so many broken bolts! Anywho... I finally got to the dyno on monday. My buddy also came with his SRT4 that has a couple mods to it. He dynoed 264hp to the wheels, he only did 2 runs and that was his best. He wasnt tuning or anything so thats why, he just wanted to see how much hp his car had. I did about 7-8 runs and my first run was the best of them all. 275whp @ 26psi... VERY LEAN. It started to worry me. Screwed around with the cam gears, boost settings and fuel trims and brought the boost down to 15psi and pumped out 274.6whp! Very pleased. As I was preping for the dyno on sunday I forgot I was still on the stock fuel pump until the computer kept saying I was running really lean. Thinking to myself WTF is going on. I know I'm not maxing out the injectors at 15psi thats for damn sure! Then on the way home it hit me. STOCK FUEL PUMP! So thats my project this saturday night before the track opens on sunday. Should be interesting to see what I can run! Anyways I have a video of about 3 dyno runs of mine and 2 of my buddies and also a run where my WG hose blew off and I hit 30psi with the camera on the gauge, I thought I blew my motor! Sounds horrible. I dont know how to post them so if someone knows how get a hold of me and let me know. I gotta run get more parts for Jakes car so I can get that thing together and going and get it back to him! I'll probably be back later with pics of the 7bolt to 6bolt install.

Here is two just for teasing purposes. I think it looks really fucking nice!
Just the short block.

I'll sell you 278whp at 19psi for 1/10th of that.

Nice numbers Jake.

The same hp at 15psi and 26psi, I'm surprised the motor didn't explode.

Re: I'm back, kinda... and Dyno results.

Lol I'm sure the motor wasn't very happy about the knock that was going on.

I have every confidence Jake will be in the 320hp range on pump gas after he gets the proper fuel mods.

Re: I'm back, kinda... and Dyno results.

I tried guessing at the MBC setting at the shootout last year. Boost guage hit the pin at 35 psi. It would have scared the hell out of me, but it blew out the spark and fouled the plugs. Saved the motor probably.

What was the airflow on those dyno runs?

Re: I'm back, kinda... and Dyno results.

They look stock to me. There might be parts store water pumps available, in fact thats very likely, but the only place to get the front water pipe is the dealer.

Re: I'm back, kinda... and Dyno results.

All of it is from the dealer. All is brand new. I dont like to fuck around with old shit when building a brand new motor. I am very picky when it comes to building them and I'd rather buy new so I know its flawless! Yea I'm almost possitive the motor wasnt too happy about that 30psi spike I got but hopefully she is fine. I build my motors to handle what I can throw at it so I kinda expected it to hold to gether for that! Didnt sound too good though. As soon as Joe Mathews hosts my vids you all can see. But yea my car was running very lean due to the maxing out of the stock fuel pump. Now I just have to install the 255 pump I have for it and be done with it. I'll find out when the track opens!
