2000 Grand Am Stereo Prob.

I was just wondering I hAVE A 2000 Grand Am Gt and I changed my rear speakers to aftermarker ones from the factory ones that were there. I have not been able get them to sound right and I was wondering if my stereo itself can handle aftermarket speakers, because I read that the Monsoon stereos can't use aftermarket but i wasn't sure if mine was the same.
Please Help
Thank you Lisa

Re: 2000 Grand Am Stereo Prob.

Lisa,

Did you make sure the wires are correct? There is a positive and negative for the speaker wires. And depending on the speakers the factory radio may not have enough out put power to dirve the speakers. You may have to boost the power to the rear speakers. I'm sure others on the Forum will have some specifics for you. I used to install car stereos but that was before all of the new amps and boosters were available. I know that there are some components that can be added to give you some great sound.

Good luck, and Welcome to the forum, you will be able to get a lot of great info here.
