Buying an MRS in a month or so, got a few ??
What are some reliability concerns?
How fast is it? What are some easy ways to gain power? Is a Celica GTS engine swap easy/cheap?

Are you considering the 3s or 5s?
Im assuming you can drive manual. Deuces have magnificent reliability, and most make it well into 250k+ miles What do you consider fast? NA stock max speed is just under 130mph I dunno what the stock turbo max is... my bad 4 that. :-( "Easy upgrades" to start would include: boost controller exhaust mani/ downpipe intake/ exhaust WIDER/ lighter WHEELES! at least 215 front and 245 back ;-)

He means MRS - MR2 spyder.
It's pretty badly underpowered from the factory. 0-60 in about 7.5 seconds. Forced induction. For just over $3k you can get a turbo kit that will make 200-210 rwhp. The GTS engine is very hard to find, because it's becoming a popular swap. I would think that the swap would be less than $3k. |
