ct26?

can you just bolt this turbo onto a stock mk3 engine? i read a bit on it from a site that sells it, but i find it hard to believe. wouldnt you need a bigger bov and a boost controller to up the boost? then wouldnt you need a better ic because of the extra boost? and wouldnt you need a better fuel pump and bigger injectors? how much boost can you get out of a stock engine? itd rock if you can justr bolt on a ct26

Re: ct26?

but as i was asking, you can just bolt on a bigger turbo because the stock setup can handle more boost? how much boost can you get out of a stock setup? i heard of people running 15 psi, but i dont know if they made any other modificiations.

Re: ct26?

You will be ok at 15 PSI, but you need supporting modifications. A metal head gasket, bigger injectors, an itercooler, and a piggy back fuel computer. There are plenty of complete kits out there. Get one from a local shop that will lend you tech support.

i knew about the metal head gasket, but basically i wont need huge modifications, like changing out the fuel pump, new manifolds, a boost controller, etc etc. any recommendations on turbos? im goign to start reading up a bit more. thanx

some one smoking somthing... just b/c your running 15 psi doesnt mean you have to upgrade injectors or go to piggy back...

anywho it depends on the power goal...

STOCK turbo can handle 335 hp -/+(some people say higher)

and people say they upgraded to ct26 prolly meant that they went from na to turbo or 1/2 turbo convertion...

for the mods heres what my recomendation is...
-get a full 3" elbow and dp...mines custom made so theres no cat...
-gut out your old cat or put a test pipe and get the catback exhaust... this will give you alot of power... right away...
-intake (apex power intake is best for filtration)
-for turbo upgrade whats your power goal? if its like 300 hp just stay with your stock ct26 or get it upgraded to 57 trim or 60 trim...
-get wideband and afc(air to fuel controller) and tune away...
-if you got some cash get your stock injectors cleaned...

well to tell you guys the truth, though some people may be mad at me, i dont even have a supra! im deciding whether to buy this or a 240sx. its such a hard decision to make! however, i think im not even going to think about it and get the supra. it seems that for not even that much cash you can get this thing flying. thats why ive been asking about upgrades, because i have around 4k to spend, and i found a decent supra for 3k that im going to chekc out this saturday. 300hp is great. i heard supras are not that great off the line, but fly at the top end. my main goal is increasing low end power, and i know a bigger turbo will only increase power at higher rpm's, but once you hit those rpm's it shoudl fly. anyways, i shouldnt talk about what i exactly want to do until i get my supra. i jsut hope everything goes well, and i know what to look for in the cars because ive been looking for them for around a year now(so many dissappointments and missed sales :-( i just hope this goes well)

4 g is more than enuff to get your car flying... just gatta know what to get... 3g is way to expensive in my opinion...

i got an 87 for 1500 and mods of 2k,,, and im hitting 330hp at a mere 10 psi daily...
untuned since i just got my s-afc II on tuesday

i read it and i didnt mean it literaly(as im sure he knows it 2 def, brand and everything)...i meant it as def. in use...

240 is more for drifting/turns and stuff

supra is for straight aways...

im saying is that he better make a decition on what he wants to do with the car...if hes into drifting it doesnt make sence to get a supra

i had this problem before i was thinking of selling my supra for an rx7 but i couldnt b/c i know that rx7 are for turns and supra is straight away...

i ended up owning both... both 87 and turbo
